It is with this background that Britam Introduced NGO Gold Cover Insurance Policy to support the efforts of NGO’s in Malawi

NGO Gold Cover is a unique tailor-made packaged insurance cover with wider limits covering motor and non-motor risks. NGO Gold Cover motor section has higher limits compared to the conventional motor insurance. The limits are as follows :-

• Third Party property Damage Limit – MK7,000,000.00
• Third Party Death/Bodily Injury Limit –MK7,000,000.00
• Third Party Loss of Use Limit -MK500,000.00
• Self-Authorization Limit- MK750,000.00
• Personal Accident Limit to driver –MK500,000.00
• Passenger Liability Limit-MK750,000.00

The policy also extends to cover some non-motor risks. This is an innovation and its the first of its kind in the market. Most motor policies do not cover non motor risks. Non-motor risks covers under NGO Gold Cover are as follows :-

• Electronic Equipment cover up to K850,000.00 per annum
• Personal Accident Cover to other employees up to K1,000,000.00 per annum
• Workmen’s Compensation cover to other employees up to K1,000,000.00 per annum
• Money in the hands of employees cover up to K500,000.00 per annum

In additional for all other covers NGO’s have with Britam they get an automatic 15% discount. The policy attracts an affordable rate of 5%. This obviously is a relief to NGO’s as they are able to cover their assets at a lower rate and at the same time enjoying wider cover and limits. The policy also is simple to handle as only one policy is issued thereby limiting time NGO’s take when arranging cover.
